We purchased this property in 2006. A few months later, a landslide damaged one side of the hill. While starting construction, heavier than normal November 2008 rains, and the unusual-for-Panama earthquake which epicentered in David (at the far west end of Panama), combined to cause another, smaller slide in the same area as the first. We spoke with an engineer who said that the hill could be saved. With our budget we can afford to build our house, but unfortunately for us, we cannot afford the hillside restoration. If you have vision and the money to repair the hillside, this is a spectacular site that could be yours to enjoy.

About Restoration of the Hillside

After the November 2008 mudslide, we were visited by representatives of a company that sells EnviroGrid. They were working on a new housing development outside of El Valle and heard of our situation. EnviroGrid is an expanding plastic web, that when filled with dirt, creates an erosion control system. They believe their product is ideal for repair of this hillside.
